Middle Georgia's love of live theatre doesn't stop at our front doors. From downtown Macon to historic Perry, a small network of community and regional theatres has spent decades putting local people on local stages for local audiences. We consider these theatres friends, not competitors. When one of us puts on a great show, the whole region's love of live performance grows a little stronger.

Theatre Macon
Housed in the historic Ritz Theater building on Cherry Street, Theatre Macon has been a driving force in downtown Macon's revival since the late 1980s. Their season spans comedy, drama, and musicals performed in one of the most intimate stages in the region, with an education program that keeps young performers in the wings.
Macon Little Theatre (MLT)
MLT is Georgia's oldest continuously operating community theatre and one of the oldest in the entire Southeast. Since 1934 their 395-seat house has been powered by volunteer actors, crews, and a community that keeps showing up season after season. MLT is a member of the League of Historic American Theatres and the American Association of Community Theatres.
Perry Players Community Theatre
Perry Players is set inside a converted 1920s building and has been turning out comedies, dramas, and musicals for the Perry community for decades, with a belief that you don't need experience to belong in theatre, just a willingness to show up.
The Grand
Originally built as the Academy of Music, The Grand is Middle Georgia's grandest stage in the most literal sense. It's a 1,030-seat historic opera house now operated as a performing arts center of Mercer University. It's home to touring Broadway productions, concerts, and community arts events.
Backlot Players
Housed in the Forsyth's historic Rose Theater, the organization provides a welcoming space where local actors, artists, technicians, and volunteers can share their talents and keep the magic of live theatre thriving.
One night at WRLT is a great start. A season spent across all of Middle Georgia's community theatres is even better.
